Curriculum

Montessori education

Developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, the Montessori approach is child-centered and based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. With over 100 years of success in diverse cultures throughout the world, the child is viewed as an individual who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. The Montessori approach values the human spirit and the development of the whole child-physical, social, emotional and cognitive.

Benefits

Montessori education offers our children opportunities to develop their potential and to enter the global community as engaged, responsible and respectful individuals with a love of learning.

  • Each child is valued as an individual.
  • Starting in our Beginners program, the children develop a sense of order, coordination, concentration, and independence.
  • Students are part of a supportive, close-knit learning community.
  • Freedom within limits.
  • Active learners.
  • Self-correction and self-assessment are an integral part of the Montessori classroom approach.
  • Given the freedom and support to question, to probe deeply, and to make connections, Montessori students become confident, enthusiastic, self-directed learners.

“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn”
